Based in Mairangi Bay, Northshore, Auckland, Physio HQ is not a chain but an owner-operated practice where results are paramount, and we run on passion to get you better.
We are an accredited ACC provider, which means we are regularly audited to maintain the high standards required. You can book directly with us, whether your injury is covered by ACC. No referral is needed for ACC or private consultations, and if necessary, we can refer you to specialists or for radiology investigations.
Our team of experienced physiotherapists—Wayne Holroyd, Rebecca Fanning, Jordan Sussex, and Alex Kenny—are experts in musculoskeletal pain and injury. We specialise in treating a wide range of issues in both adults and children, including sports injuries, chronic conditions, discomfort in the back and neck, as well as problems in the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. Our physios love for exercise and sport helps them relate to our athletic clientele and understand the impact of their injuries to their fitness goals.
Alex Kenny is also our Certified Pelvic Health Physiotherapist here at Physio HQ. She offers Pelvic Health Physio for a range of conditions such as bowel and pelvic floor rehabilitation, incontinence, maternal birthing injuries, pre- and post-natal coaching, painful sexual function, prostatectomy care and more.
At Physio HQ, our mission is to provide the best all-round service possible for our patients. When needed, we collaborate closely with other health practitioners to ensure our you receive an integrated team approach, aiming to restore you to normal function. Wayne has worked for over 20 years with top international sportsmen and women, as well as professional teams.
Wayne has supported athletes at world championships and other international events for multiple sports including rugby, soccer, athletics, marathon, swimming, surf lifesaving, canoeing, kayaking, gymnastics, beach volleyball, and boxing.
Wayne is particularly skilled in biomechanical analysis of movement with a focus on movement efficiency, high performance and injury risk modification.
Wayne has also been involved providing physiotherapy and high performance support to age group athletes to international level.
Wayne has significant experience in dealing with injuries in adolescent and young adult athletes.
Originally from Surrey, UK, Rebecca graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton in 2015.Rebecca began her career in the NHS, where she gained invaluable experience across a variety of disciplines, including neurosurgery, intensive care respiratory, trauma, and elective orthopaedics.
After relocating to New Zealand in 2017, Rebecca transitioned into musculoskeletal outpatient care and developed a strong interest in sports physiotherapy.
She has a particular passion for managing sporting injuries, especially in netball, and spent several years working as a physio at North Harbour Netball Centre, where she provided court-side first aid and injury assessments.
Rebecca also has a keen interest on ankle, knee and ACL injuries, as well as post-operative rehabilitation for both elective and trauma orthopaedic cases.
In 2024, she further enhanced her knowledge by completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Otago.
Jordan is a Kiwi Physio completing his Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy in 2015 from AUT. He is passionate about all areas of physiotherapy and has a particular interest in the management of overhead athletes, biomechanics and movement competency.
He has an extensive history of sports team physio work as well as clinical work. In his spare time he enjoys weekend sports including playing cricket for the Takapuna Men's Premier team.
Jordan also recently had the opportunity to represent the Auckland Aces. In winter he plays social football & runs regularly. He is a keen musician and volunteers for the music team at his local church.
After earning her Physiotherapy degree from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2019, Alex moved to New Zealand in 2020. Since then, she has gained five years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Her passion lies in exercise-based rehabilitation, focusing on restoring patients to full function and preventing future injuries through tailored exercise programmes.
With extensive experience in competitive dance, Alex possesses a deep understanding of the physical and psychological challenges of sports and injuries. She is currently training for a half Ironman, reflecting her enthusiasm for working with endurance athletes and concentrating on injury prevention and rehabilitation.
In 2022, Alex expanded her knowledge by becoming a certified pelvic health therapist and a pre- and post-natal coach. She provides compassionate care to a diverse group of patients, supporting them through pregnancy, managing pain, continence issues, prostate care, surgical rehabilitation, and other concerns. Alex is dedicated to delivering individualised care to help people achieve optimal physical health and performance.

As co-owner of Physio HQ, Jude is a highly skilled senior administrator and staff manager with over 40 years of administration experience to senior management level including 8 years as a Physiotherapy Practice Manager.
Jude takes care of the Practice Management, accounting, & marketing support for Physio HQ.
In her spare time she is the lead farm volunteer at Shakespeare Regional Park and has recently been appointed as a Justice of the Peace.
With over 10 years of experience in retail management and logistics, Jessica joined us in 2022, bringing her extensive expertise to our team.
As our Receptionist, Jessica ensures the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently, providing a high standard of service and care to our patients. She manages patient scheduling, digital marketing, product sales, ACC liaisons and much more.
